Insurgent by Veronica Roth

Insurgent

“One choice can transform you – or it can destroy you. But every choice has consequences, and as unrest surges in the factions all around her, Tris Prior must continue trying to save those she loves – and herself – while grappling with haunting questions of grief and forgiveness, identity and loyalty, politics and love. Tris’s initiation day should have been marked by celebration and victory with her chosen faction; instead, the day ended with unspeakable horrors. War now looms as conflict between the factions and their ideologies grows. And in times of war, sides must be chosen, secrets will emerge, and choices will become even more irrevocable – and even more powerful. Transformed by her own decisions but also by haunting grief and guilt, radical new discoveries, and shifting relationships, Tris must fully embrace her Divergence, even if she does not know what she may lose by doing so.”

If you liked the first book, Divergent, you will absolutely love this sequel! I thought that the first one was mind  blowing and unpredictable but this one is even better. The revelations were unforeseeable and took the book to a  whole new level. While reading I constantly found myself asking “is she going to make it/is she going to die?” At the end of the first book Tris was full of adrenaline and kept pushing her emotions away but in this one all of the  feelings and events that she had been through catch up to her. You get to experience the grief that she went through and it’s heart wrenching. This book begins exactly where the first one left off so you are not left wondering what had happened in the meantime. But just so you all know, make sure you have the next book available to you because the way this one ends will only drive you crazy with curiosity if you have to wait for it. Definitely a must read for book lovers! (Don’t let the size of the book intimidate you either!)
