Safe in His Arms by Colleen Coble

“BornSafeInHisArms_New-195x300 and raised on sprawling Texas land, Margaret O’Brien prides herself on her competence as a  rancher. But her father believes she’s made for more than just dawn-to-dusk work. He wants her to  have the love of a good man, to raise children, to build a life. But Margaret gave up such dreams  years  ago. She’s convinced no man would have her, that the ranch is her life now. So when  Margaret’s father  hires Daniel Cutler as a new foreman, she’s frustrated and suspicious. Then an  overheard conversation  links him with a gang of bank robbers…”

One reason that I enjoy reading Christian books, whether they are fiction or nonfiction, is that they  always either teach me a lesson or remind me of something. This book happened to remind me of  the  unwavering love that Jesus Christ has for each and every one of us. All throughout the book  Margaret  felt sorry for herself because she believed that she wasn’t good enough for anyone. That  no guy would  ever love her because of her height and looks. She didn’t even really believe that God loved  her. She knew it, but she never accepted it. When Daniel informed her of his feelings towards her,  she refused to believe  him. I think that sometimes in our own lives we go through the same feeling  that Margaret eventually  overcame. We find ourselves thinking that we are not worthy of God’s  love and forgiveness. That we’ve  gone too far or just don’t deserve His love. It’s always good to be reminded of His love for us. On occasion, girls more than guys, find themselves wishing that they looked different or had different features. We sometimes tend to forget that in God’s eyes we are perfect. He made each and every one of us beautiful, no matter what we think of ourselves. Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, “He hath made every thing beautiful in his time…” God even tells us in the Bible that we are beautiful. Never doubt yourself or think that you are not worthy of something or that you don’t deserve something. Jesus loves you just the way you are!

  1. Sounds like an interesting book. I will have to add it to my stack of future reads… Or just bring it along to SC.
