Chasing the Sun is the first novel of Tracie Peterson’s series, Land of the Lone Star. With more than ninety books in print Tracie Peterson still continues to amaze readers with her novels. She is actually one of my favorite Historical Christian authors. I find her novels to be captivating and encouraging. In this novel we are taken back in time to the time of the Civil War and how it changed families. Hannah and her family had moved to Texas to put the war behind them. But even with all of the distance between them and the battles the war continued to wreak havoc on their lives. This novel is a great example of strong faith in God. Never once, in terrifying nor in joyful events, did Hannah’s faith waiver. Her faith in the Lord is a great example of how our faith should be. “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God…” ~ Romans 8:28.
