“Cassia flees to the Outer Provinces in search of Ky only to discover he has escaped into the canyons. But even as she risks everything to reunite with Ky, a few surprises from her former life may haunt her… or change the game once again.”
This is the second novel in the Matched trilogy. Unlike the first book, Matched, this one is full of adventure and mystery. Even though it was faster paced than the previous novel I did find the writing and most content to still be geared towards a younger audience. There were many surprises along the way though. Some of the choices that Ky and Cassia made were not ones that I would have imagined them to make. I really liked the mysterious aspect within the novel. For example, who else was with them and who did the light in the town come from? Cassia’s and Ky’s adventure to find each other was interesting. The obstacles they faced and the decisions that they made were intriguing. The fact that both male lead characters are still in love with her makes it even more difficult to cheer just one on, both seem to be great in their own special way. This novel did bring up many new questions and I am hoping that the third one reveals the answers to them. Just like the first novel, this one is a good one to check out if you are a fan of the dystopian or young adult novels.
