“She dreamed of a love to last forever… Beth Gallatin has always wanted to settle down in one town, with one man, and raise a family. But with her father’s roaming ways, she found solace in reading romances instead. The passing of her father, however, means that Beth and her sisters can, for the first time, dare to claim the rugged Montana frontier as their home. Nick Lassiter has loved Beth since she first came to town, but she’s always seemed to think of him more as a brother. Just when he finally gets Beth to consider him, an unexpected arrival from Nick’s complicated past threatens the affection growing between them. As a past fraught with unwise choices and guilt invades their world, will Nick and Beth find the courage to embrace love?”
This was book number two in the Brides of Gallatin County series. Just like the first one this novel was phenomenal! It picks up almost right where the first one left off. Once one starts reading it they’ll notice that a few months have passed but I wouldn’t have even known that except that it mentions it in the book. Similar to the previous book, this one does focus on one character more so than the others, but it still includes the perspectives of the sisters. That was one of the things that I really enjoyed about this novel, and series so far. It doesn’t just focus on one particular person, instead it branches out and includes other main characters view points as well. The “unexpected arrival” was definitely unexpected. But the way that Beth handled the news was very admirable. That kind of news would not have been well received by most at that time, nor now for that matter. The stunts that these ladies pull are as entertaining as they were in the first book. I hope that you give this book, and series, a try. I greatly enjoyed reading them.
