“Steve Harvey, the host of the nationally syndicated “Steve Harvey Morning Show,” can’t count the number of impressive women he’s met over the years, whether it’s through the “Strawberry Letters” segment of his program or while on tour for his comedy shows. These are women who can run a small business, keep a household with three kids in tiptop shape, and chair a church group all at the same time. Yet when it comes to relationships, they can’t figure out what makes men tick. Why? According to Steve it’s because they’re asking other women for advice when no one but another man can tell them how to find and keep a man. In “Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man,” Steve lets women inside the mindset of a man and sheds light on concepts and questions…”
The only reason that I read this book was because I greatly enjoyed watching the movie. I found it to be full of humor, yet it contained pretty sound advice. So I gave this novel a try and ended up reading it in a few hours. Steve Harvey takes many of the questions that females have about men and basically answers them with simple replies. You always hear girls taking about their guy or how to get a guy with their girlfriends but, how would a girl be able to tell someone else what a man is thinking? Men understand men, women understand women. I still don’t understand how women can give other women advice on men. You’d think it’d be hard, right? I mean, you don’t really know what they’re feeling or thinking. I enjoyed the humor that Steve Harvey incorporated into his advice. He says things that we all think but never really say. I’d have to say that my favorite part in the book was the chapter on the three P’s: Profess, Protect, and Provide. His insights on those three topics were astute. I feel like I learned a lot just from that chapter. There was a question that he answered towards the back of the book that asked whether guys preferred girls in heels or flats. The answer was…. heels. Just a heads up to all the guys who prefer girls to wear heels instead of flats, heels are very uncomfortable after a few hours! They may look cute and all but they sure do cause a lot of pain. If you would like to read a book with humor, and are okay with relationship advice, I hope you give this one a try. It’ll have you chuckling more than once!
