This past weekend my family, one of my dearest friends and I went to Indianapolis. A few weeks ago I found out that Nick Vujicic was going to speak in Indianapolis and I really wanted to go hear him. So, since it wasn’t too far away, we packed our overnight bags and left Friday night. The conference was Saturday at 7 pm at the Indianapolis State Fairgrounds so we had a few hours until then to explore the city. None of us had ever been to Indianapolis before so we weren’t sure were to go or what to see. We did spend a few hours at the White River State Park and walked along the canal. It was really neat. There was also an event that was going on with live music, so that was pretty fun. We were going to go to one of the museums nearby but after lunch we felt as though a nap was in order. So we headed off the the hotel for a siesta. The weather was just perfect! Not cold but sweater weather, basically fall weather. Also, if any of you guys were watching the Iowa State versus Iowa game on Saturday you will know that Iowa State won!! Go ISU! I’m so proud of my school!
As you can tell, I got a picture with Nick’s wife Kanae! 🙂 She is one of the nicest people I have ever met and Nick is truly blessed. They both are! To me they will always seem like the best couple ever. Their love for each other and for God is inspiring. I hope to one day have what they have. But Kanae or Nick if either of you happen to read this post then I would like to say, thank you again!!!! It was a blessing to meet you two. The conference was amazing. If you have never been to a conference of Nick’s then I would greatly advice you to go if you ever have a chance. He does an amazing job reaching out to others. I am a Christian and try to live my life the way Jesus would want me to but I felt like my faith was renewed after hearing him speak. I loved the humor that he incorporated into his speeches. The stories are ones that I will never forget. It was an honor to be able to go and hear him speak. Nick is so such a wonderful person. His love for Jesus is such an inspiration to the rest of us. I would give anything to have the faith that he does. But here is the best part of the entire trip….
I met Nick!! 🙂 (The lady in the background is his beautiful wife Kanae). I wasn’t sure if I would be able to but God answered my prayer and granted me the opportunity to meet him and get a picture! I was so nervous when I asked Kanae if it would be possible to meet Nick. I actually stood in the back of the line praying and gathering the courage to ask. But I am so glad that I did. If I hadn’t I would never have met Nick or been able to thank him for everything that he does for others. I’ve reviewed one of his books on here but even just that one novel has made a significant impact on my life. I teared up multiple times while listening to him speak. He is so honest and insightful. In my opinion, Nick is the perfect Christian role model. We Christians should all strive to have the faith that he does. Thank you Nick for letting me meet you! This was one of the best trips that I have ever been on. It wasn’t so much the location as it was the people, or rather I should say person. I was able to meet my role model and I will always cherish that moment. God bless you and your family Nick!!
