The Chase by Kyle and Kelsey Kupecky

The Chase“Only God could have written a love story as beautiful as Kyle and Kelsey Kupecky’s. From their teenage days thousands of miles apart when they separately wrote letters to their future spouses, to a chance meeting backstage at a concert, their story brings inspiration and hope to ever girl. It’s easy to get impatient for the future to play out, especially when it comes to love. Before long you find yourself chasing the perfect guy and trying to write your own happily ever after. But the truth is, your best future won’t be found chasing boys – it’ll only come by first chasing God. In The Chase, Kyle and Kelsey take turns telling their story – with Kelsey sharing secrets to a godly relationship and Kyle revealing the truth about what guys really think. Together they’ll show you how to put God first, protect your heart, deal with the loneliness and peer pressure that come along with purity, and see yourself as God does. Are you ready to trust God with your very own happily ever after? Let the chase begin!”

I don’t even know where to begin in describing this novel or my opinion of it. It was… life changing. I know that that statement is a cliche and all, but this novel really is that powerful. Kyle and Kelsey have one of the most amazing and blessed relationships I have ever seen. Their faith in God is extremely admirable and their love for each other is true. I didn’t even realize just how much I needed to read this book until I finished it. I’m at the point in my life where I don’t know what my next move should be. I have started thinking about setting down but in order to do that you need someone to settle down with. I had even started thinking that maybe my prince charming might not be out there. But that thought quickly changed after I read this novel. Everything does happen for a reason and while we may not know why things happen the way they do, God does. He has a plan for us. Just because one isn’t in a relationship does not mean that they are doomed. Rather, God is trying to help us become the better version of us before we meet our soul mates. In the novel, Kyle and Kelsey ask the reader who they are chasing. Is it God or maybe a boyfriend? Maybe it’s an object, who knows. But that question really opened up my eyes. Who am I chasing? It turns out, I’m chasing the wrong thing. God is who I should be chasing at this moment, but He isn’t. I hadn’t even realized that I had started neglecting my relationship with Him until this moment. After I finished this novel I realized just how much I have neglected my relationship with Him. While trying to find something that wasn’t there yet, I forgot to look to the most important person in my life… Jesus. I strongly believe that this novel should be one that every girl, and even guy, reads. Kelsey and Kyle have great advice to give, and it’s honest. They are so kind in their words, and loving. If you haven’t read this novel, please do. It might not change your life completely but it will give you great advice on how to live a life that Jesus Christ would want you to. A life that He has planned for you from the very beginning of time. God bless y’all!
