The Chase by Kyle and Kelsey Kupecky

The Chase“Only God could have written a love story as beautiful as Kyle and Kelsey Kupecky’s. From their teenage days thousands of miles apart when they separately wrote letters to their future spouses, to a chance meeting backstage at a concert, their story brings inspiration and hope to ever girl. It’s easy to get impatient for the future to play out, especially when it comes to love. Before long you find yourself chasing the perfect guy and trying to write your own happily ever after. But the truth is, your best future won’t be found chasing boys – it’ll only come by first chasing God. In The Chase, Kyle and Kelsey take turns telling their story – with Kelsey sharing secrets to a godly relationship and Kyle revealing the truth about what guys really think. Together they’ll show you how to put God first, protect your heart, deal with the loneliness and peer pressure that come along with purity, and see yourself as God does. Are you ready to trust God with your very own happily ever after? Let the chase begin!”

I don’t even know where to begin in describing this novel or my opinion of it. It was… life changing. Continue reading

Indianapolis, IN 2014 and Nick Vujicic

Fall 2014 017This past weekend my family, one of my dearest friends and I went to Indianapolis. A few weeks ago I found out that Nick Vujicic was going to speak in Indianapolis and I really wanted to go hear him. So, since it wasn’t too far away, we packed our overnight bags and left Friday night. The conference was Saturday at 7 pm at the Indianapolis State Fairgrounds so we had a few hours until then to explore the city. None of us had ever been to Indianapolis before so we weren’t sure were to go or what to see. We did spend a few hours at the White River State Park and walked along the canal. It was really neat. Life Without Limits by Nick Vujicic

lifewithoutlimitsbookjacket“Born without arms or legs, Nick Vujicic overcame his disabilities to live an independent, rich, fulfilling, and “ridiculously good” life while serving as a role model for anyone seeking true happiness. Now an internationally successful motivational speaker, Nick eagerly spreads his central message: The most important goal is to find your life’s purpose and to never give up, despite whatever difficulties or seemingly impossible odds stand in your way. Nick tells the story of his physical disabilities and the emotional battle he endured while learning to deal with them as a child, teen, and young adult…”

This book was one of the most uplifting and inspiring books that I have ever come across. I am so glad that I chose to read it. Nick’s testimony was definitely one that I have never heard before. My spirit was greatly uplifted by the time I finished this book. After reading the first few chapters of this novel I felt terrible at how I occasionally complain about my life and throw  myself pity parties. Nick grew up with no arms and legs, yet he is extremely grateful for everything that he has. Continue reading

The Vow by Kim and Krickitt Carpenter with Dana Wilkerson

“Lifthe vowe as Kim and Krickitt Carpenter knew it was shattered beyond recognition two months after their marriage when a devastating car wreck left Krickitt with a massive head injury and in a coma for weeks. When she finally awoke, she had no idea who Kim was. With no recollection of their relationship and while Krickitt experienced personality changes common to those who suffer head injuries, Kim realized the woman he had married essentially died in the accident. And yet, against all odds, Kim and Krickitt fell in love all over again. The Vow tells the true story of this journey, one of a commitment unbroken and a vow fulfilled.”

Such an inspiring and uplifting story. Their faith in the Lord and their love for each other is very admirable. Through all of the hardships that they faced, Krickitt not remembering and Kim loosing his wife the way he knew her, Kim never stopped loving or being there for Krickitt. I really admired Kim’s faith in believing that God would bring his wife back to him and Krickitt’s for putting all of her trust in God and never doubting it.
